Forest Fire Outbreaks Believed To Be Caused By Arsonists
THURWOOD: Authorities have confirmed the recent string of fires in the local forest to be the work of a group of serial arsonists. These forest fires, having started since late last month, were noted to always start in heavily wooded areas before spreading, making it difficult to identify the cause.
In the latest instance, however, authorities have found what appear to be signs of vandalism near the site of the arson, something they believe may be connected to the perpetrators. This vandalism was discovered on nearby buildings, signs, and trees in the form of various pride flag graffiti. Physical flags, along with stickers, pins, and buttons have also been discovered strewn about or affixed to the targets of vandalism. Of note is also a large spray-painted wall that spells out "STOP THE SLOW MODE". Experts assigned to this case are still attempting to deduce the meaning behind the phrase.
Authorities believe this is the work of an organized group that has yet to be identified. However suspicious activity has been noted outside a local restaurant specializing in soft tacos. While it is theorized that this may be where the group is meeting, a lack of strong evidence prevents authorities from investigating the area further. In the meantime, they are currently advising residents to stay clear for the time being.
We will return with updates as the investigation continues.
